Computers have two areas subject to repair, hardware and software.
Hardware Repairs
With hardware repairs, computers are consumable goods, so you don’t want to put too much into something where it would be cheaper to replace the whole computer rather than to fix or replace the part. We use the 30% approach. If the computer is less than two years old, and the cost of hardware repair would be under 30% of a new computer, we may recommend the repair. If the computer is older than two years and it would cost more than 30% then we would not recommend the repairs. This is done on a case by case basis. Software Repairs
About 90% of computer problems are software related. There are literally millions of
lines of code from different companies doing their best to play together. Eventually, like a little kid, somebody gets upset.
